Bogota Fashion week joins forces with World Fashion Week & the most upcoming Hollywood TV show " American Beauty Star " Host by supermodel Adriana Lima
World Fashion Week® and Bogota Fashion Week, a business platform of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, collaborated to promote the expansion of Colombian fashion- especially in Latin America. The two aimed to promote international trade relations within the framework of the most recent edition of Bogota Fashion Week®.
In order to create opportunities for international cooperations that are mutually beneficial in terms of brand positioning for Colombian and Latin American designers, commercial platforms combined synergies and efforts to implement a contest.
This consisted of selecting the 10 best looks of Bogota Fashion Week 2017 that automatically became part of the racks of World Fashion Week® on the upcoming Hollywood reality TV show "American Beauty Star", hosted by supermodel Adriana Lima. This opportunity, in parallel with the support to designers, seeks to achieve the empowerment of women in underdeveloped areas as a tool to combat poverty and achieve social inclusion.
For three long days a jury consisting of María Eugenia Castellanos (Uruguay), Walter Rodrigues (Brazil) and Ricardo Domingo (Barcelona)- international curators of Bogotá Fashion Week, toured the Market Experience of the platform and attended the catwalks in search of the most surprising, daring and risky pieces.
Those pieces that made an impression upon the judges were selected. The judges then performed a meticulous process of styling so that the selected looks were up to the challenge.
"This is the happy result of materializing an agreement with a full spirit of friendly cooperation and on the faithful basis of mutual understanding," said Gloria Arribas, WFW director in Latin America.
The president of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce, Monica de Greiff, said that "it is an opportunity for our designers to present their talent and creativity in an international setting. It will be a window that will show international audiences that design is a powerful tool in the value chain of the clothing, footwear, leather goods, and jewelry sectors of Bogotá and the region. "
