Designer as Couture
Elena Bryntsalova is a young Russian designer who has been interested in fashion since she was a child. This passion led her at the age of 16 to attend fashion design courses at Parsons, The New School for Design, New York. At 18 she graduated from school and attended a fashion course at Central Saint Martins, London. The young designer continued her education attending the BA Fashion Design course, at the prestigious Instituto Marangoni in London.
In spite of her young age Elena Bryntsalova's commercial view of fashion is dominant throughout her elaborately designed collection. Practicality combined with elegance are the main features of her brand.
One of the sources of inspiration for her debut collection are the lead characters of the series «Gossip Girl», blending intellectuality, independence, effortlessness and gloss. The collection was designed for ladies, who feel at large and appreciate quality, comfort and are in style. The designer’s first collection can be succinctly described in three words: contrast, chic and universalism.
Contrast
Traditionally feminine and glamorous A-silhouettes, as well as hourglass shapes are accentuated by oversized coats or jackets and highlighted with intentionally rough massive shoes that symbolize independence and decisiveness. Modern and functional neoprene is opposed to delicate and romantic silk and lace.
Chic
Features from the late 60s, the 80s and the Roman times add glamour to the contemporary style of the collection. Bustier-dresses made of frosted lace with original flounces, delicate lace tops, oriental silk zoave pants with laced insets, minis and maxis with sequined ornaments, dresses and fitted jackets with patch shoulders, that resemble cruise collections and yacht blazers or the tunics of Roman legionaries.
Universalism
The collection consists of high quality garments in black and white colours that make this collection relevant from day to night. Looks can easily be transformed into evening styles with the removal off the bulky jacket and the change of accessories, letting the gold features of the collection play their night factor. The collection accentuates every womens curves, giving her a slim and outlined silhouette.
